AIG Colour Types

A chemically pure and structurally perfect diamond is completely transparent and has no shade or color. However, in practice, natural gem-cut diamonds are rare. The color of a diamond can be influenced by chemical impurities and/or structural defects in the crystal lattice. Depending on the color and intensity of the diamond, the color of a diamond can either decrease or enhance its value.
